Steve Wingler There are no words for the loss we’ve all taken. Steve died Sun., April 24 at University Hospital in Louisville after an accident involving a wind-fallen tree. To say he will be missed by family and friends is too much of an understatement. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a life-long member of the Campbellsburg Conservation Club, along with many others. Trap shooting was his passion, as so many of you know, and he almost never missed an opportunity to go. His kindness, sense of humor, and bigger than life presence will be missed by so many. He was one hell of a man.

Steve chose to be cremated without services, but there will be a pitch-in dinner and memorial shoot in his honor on May 15 at the Campbellsburg Conservation Club. Doors open at 10:30 AM, with the shoot starting at noon. All family and friends are welcome at any time.

If you need directions to the club, take Hwy 60 towards Campbellsburg, turn right at the West Washington School Rd (beside the church). Follow the road back and take the first right. The club is on the left before you come to the dead end.

Welcome to the Campbellsburg Conservation Club. The club has been host to trap shooters and gun enthusiasts since 1939. We believe in preserving our natural resources, having a solid relationship with our community, and educating the next generation.

We have 40 acres and a small pond available for hunting and fishing to members only, but the general public is welcome to come visit and attend all shoots.

The club offers still-board shoots every Saturday morning, year-round.

Trap shoots are held every Friday night, also year-round.

Rifle matches are a summertime favorite on our 100 yard .22 rifle range.

We also rent the clubhouse for parties and social gatherings, by request.
